Happy Rainy Sunday
Yesterday was so beautiful that I hope you were outside enjoying the weather. Today, however, is a perfect day to chill on the couch and watch a movie or take a nap. It's also a great day to finish your NATURAL DISASTER PRESENTATION and SCIENCE PACKET that is due tomorrow. If you were absent last week, your missing work (Math, Close Read, Math 4 Today, PSA Script) and activities on Google Classroom are also due tomorrow. Foster's PBIS program encourages children to be Responsible, Respectful, and Safe. Unfortunately, many students have not been very responsible lately. Last week there were 7 children that didn't have their science packet completed, so they sat during mask break and lost 10 points off their grade. This week, any student that doesn't have their science packet, missing work, or natural disaster presentation completed and turned in will lose 20 points off each assignment and sit during mask break and recess. In addition, there have been many students either forgetting their iPad at home, or bringing it without charging it. PLEASE be responsible by CHARGING YOUR IPAD EACH NIGHT and PUTTING IT IN YOUR BACKPACK EACH MORNING!!! Respect is also extremely important. Remember to ALWAYS treat others with KINDNESS. Words are hurtful and can never be taken back once they are said. Please refrain from shouting out in class or talking at inappropriate times too. We are having a lot of difficulty with this again. Finally, being safe at all times is a must. When you're in the classroom, you should NOT touch other students' supplies without their permission, you shouldn't throw food, and you shouldn't be running around. When you're outside or in PE, you should never throw things at students or push and shove another child. If we all work together at being Responsible, Respectful, and Safe, we can have a more positive, productive day.
Moving forward, we still have enough granola bars to last one more week. Donations are needed soon and always appreciated. Just a heads up, District 142 will be collecting student iPads and chargers on May 27th. If you have lost your charger, the cost to replace it will be $40. Please do not attempt to purchase your own charger, because if it is not the correct one, you will still have to purchase the one provided by the District. Additionally, PLEASE continue to turn in your signed permission slip and $15 for our Windy City Thunderbolts field trip on May 19th. I have also scheduled our second field trip to Central Park for May 26th. We will be walking to the park district building on Central. Students will be able to bring any sports equipment they can carry, but nothing with wheels. (NO roller blades, scooters, skateboards, etc.) The cost is $1 to help purchase water bottles. Anyone who wants to join us can! You can meet us at Foster and walk with us or meet us at the park. More news to follow. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
Homework
A new science packet will be coming home tomorrow. It will be due the following Monday. If you finish sooner, please turn it into the Bluebird.. Also, DON'T FORGET TO practice IXL, Khan, and/or Raz Kids skills at home again. These should be practiced at home Monday - Friday using the schedule below.
